Garment Recovery Systems (GRS) has been recycling Tyvek ® garments during the past twenty years in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Europe. GRS has been audited by numerous pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, electronic and semiconductor companies and has passed each and every inspection; some audits resulted in corporate wide approval of the recycling program.
GRS is capable of handling any Tyvek ® garment that is potentially contaminated with trace amounts of potent compounds that are not disposed of as hazardous waste in accordance with the DOT or EPA. Employees who come into contact with garments wear protective apparel including: a Tyvek ® coverall, disposable gloves, eye protection and a respirator. Garments we recycle that are deemed “sensitive” receive additional care and are subject to an amplified wash process containing additional amounts of bleach, detergents and an additional rinse cycle. GRS also uses EcoLab to produce custom wash cycles for companies whose compounds warrant a change in the standard wash process of the Tyvek ® garments.
